Charles University Researcher Receives a Prestigious European Grant

Daniel Kráľ, a researcher at the Charles University Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, received the prestigious ERC Starting Independent Researcher Grant. The grant is provided by the European Research Council and it aims to support excellent up-and-coming research leaders who are about to establish or consolidate a proper research team and to start conducting independent research in Europe. The project titled “Classes of combinatorial objects from classes to algorithms” was proposed in the PE1 “Mathematic foundations” panel. The project will be launched in late 2010 and will last 5 years. |

Daniel Kráľ was born in Zlín, Czech Republic, in 1978. He received his Ph.D. from Charles University in 2004. He spent the following two years at the Berlin Institute of Technology and the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. In April 2010, he became an assistant professor of theoretical computer science.
