Vice-Rector Professor Jan Škrha
Dear students,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you arriving from different countries to Charles University at the beginning of your studies in the Czech Republic. You selected the oldest University in Middle Europe with a great history but also with prestigious studies in the present time. Charles University founded by the Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles IV in 1348 mainly for students from the middle European region is now open to all students from the whole world.
Charles University belongs to research universities offering modern studies in humanities, natural sciences and medicine at all levels covering bachelor, master and doctoral study programmes. It collaborates with hundreds of universities and institutions abroad and its international relationships are highly appreciated.
I should like to wish you great success in your studies and all the best in your personal life. Have a nice year at Charles University and in the Czech Republic as well.
