Q&A session about palliative care with Harvard Medical School professor Tulsky

James Tulsky, MD, a leading expert on palliative care and communication in medicine, will visit our faculty during his visit in Prague. Come to this Q&A session to learn more about his work on palliative care in heart failure, get some recommendations for delivering bad news from one of the best experts in this field or just to learn how to become a professor at the best medical school in the world.


The event will be held in English.


Dr Tulsky is Chair of Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Chief of Division of Palliative Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He is a Co-Director of Harvard Medical School Center for Palliative Care and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr Tulsky has a longstanding interest in doctor-patient communication and quality of life in serious illness. His current research focuses on the evaluation of communication between oncologists and patients with advanced cancer and evaluating the role of palliative care in congestive heart failure. He received numerous awards for his work, such as Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, Award for Research Excellence from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine or George L. Engel Award from the American Academy on Communication in Healthcare.
