Rector ́s Sports Day

Dear sports fans, students and colleagues,

Once again, the traditional sport-filled event of the summer semester is approaching: the Rector’s Sporting Day of Charles University! This year it will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Therefore, on this one day only, leave the lecture halls, laboratories, offices and study rooms empty, take your colleagues, classmates and friends and come out to play. Put together a team and take part in one of the collective sport tournaments, find yourselves a rival and come to enjoy a game of badminton, kanjam, summer biathlon or any other sporting activity. You can also come to test your physical condition and stamina and take part in individual fitness activities.

There are 34 different sports and physical activities available for you this year. We believe that everyone can take their pick whether they are passionate performance athletes or recreational and occasional sports enthusiasts. Do not hesitate to take the opportunity to try out the physical activities that you have never thought of trying so far or spend the day doing the sport you are good at. Our target is to provide for your joyful experience of active participation and time well spent in the company of friends

This year, there are several new items on the menu, such as hockey, student survival – running with tasks at the stopovers (a light form of the Spartan Race), and frisbee. Many of you will surely be attracted by the irresistible opportunity to try shooting with laser rifles, either as during the summer biathlon, or separately.

Thanks to our sponsor, Sportobchod.cz, you can borrow and try scooters for free. Sportobchod will pitch its inflatable tent in the area of the CU Sports Centre near the athletic track. And because sporting support appetite and it is also necessary to maintain a proper fluid intake, as well as to discuss one’s performances or just to have a chitchat, refreshments will be provided throughout the day at the CUSC (at the gallerywith a terrace by the exit to the outdoor sportsground). The social atmosphere will be supported by student bands (by the refreshments area.
